Where will the next big Saturday Lotto Superdraw winner come from? WA hot spots revealed!
Time is ticking for Western Australians to grab their chance to win a life changing share in this weekend's $21 million Saturday Lotto Superdraw.
With over 800,000 tickets expected to be sold in the Superdraw, the big question is where will the big winner be sold?
Will it be a country retailer again in known hotspots such as Kalgoorlie-Boulder or the Peel region? Or will the metro retailers triumph and Perth City crown another Division 1 winner?
According to Phong Le, owner of Heights Lottery Centre and News, who has sold two Division 1 winners so far this year, the next winner will be sold in Alexander Heights!
"We've had two Division 1 winners this year and we are aiming to sell another," he said.
Phong says there is a special reason why his store is so lucky.
"We have a one metre tall lucky Buddha which we think has helped us sell our four Division 1 winning Lotto tickets over our 10 years," he said.
"All of our winners have come from Slikpik tickets so we're hoping one of our syndicates will win next; it would be nice to share the win around," said Phong.
Nadene Plowman from Pinjarra News and General Store thinks the Superdraw winner will come from regional WA with her store also selling two Division 1 winners this year, plus a Scratch'n'Win top prize.
"We've had people coming from everywhere to buy tickets from us, the atmosphere has been great!" she said.
"We've got lots of balloons up and are going to dress up on Friday for Halloween, it creates a lot of interest and that's why we're so lucky," she said.
Pinjarra News and General Store also have a strange superstition about relocations and changes to their shop.
"Every time we move or change the shop we seem to sell a winner, one of this year's winners was sold the day we relocated the store, so we'll move some stuff around on Saturday and hope for the best!" said Nadene.
Lotto hotspots this year have included Balcatta and Subiaco in the metro area and Mandurah and Kalgoorlie-Boulder in regional WA.
Superdraws always excite Western Australian players with Lotterywest machines expecting to peak at over 550 tickets printed every minute during the busiest times on Saturday.
The WA community is also set to be the big winner following the $21 million Saturday Lotto Superdraw. The weekend draw is expected to raise approximately $4.3 million to help local hospitals, sports and arts groups, and thousands of not-for-profit organisations.
Tickets for the Superdraw can be purchased from Lotterywest retailers or from Play Online at www.lotterywest.wa.gov.au until 6pm this Saturday.
