Weekend Lotto luck strikes WA three times
Lotto luck has struck Western Australia not once, not twice but three times after three local players picked up $845,849 in the weekend’s Saturday Lotto draw.
The State’s winning tickets were sold at:
- Applecross Village Newsagency
- The Lucky Charm News Willetton
- The Lucky Charm News Noranda
For the Willetton and Noranda outlets, it follows Division 1 Lotto tickets sold there last year. In January, The Lucky Charm News Willetton sold a $1. 4 million ticket, while The lucky Charm Noranda sold a ticket worth $1 million in June.
Owner of The Lucky Charm News in Noranda Theo Popis said it was only last week he had mentioned his outlet was due for another big winner.
“We’ve had three in two years which is pretty good, including a ticket worth $20 million in 2013. We must be doing something right!” he laughed.
Mr Popis said it was a great result to have had three WA winners amongst the five nationally in the Division 1 prize pool.
The weekend winners bring this year’s tally of WA Division 1 Lotto winners to 10. These winners have shared in prizes worth $12.8 million.
It’s not just WA’s winners that celebrate following a Lotto draw, with Lotterywest directing 33 cents of each dollar spent by our players to the WA community.
Local community groups to receive Lotterywest support include the Perth Bushwalkers Club located in Applecross which were given a $15,000 Lotterywest grant last year to help with their social and educational activities.
Things looking good for February $20 million Superdraw
WA’s three weekend Division 1 Lotto wins could be a sign of good things to come in this month’s $20 million Saturday Lotto Superdraw on the 14 February.
Lotterywest spokesperson Pina Compagnone said a ticket in the Superdraw could be the perfect way to spoil your loved one.
“We’ve had quite a few of our winners who’ve been given their winning Lotto ticket as a gift. This included a $2 million winner from last year who was given her ticket as a belated Valentines Gift from her husband,” Ms Compagnone said.
Tickets for the Superdraw are available from Lotterywest retailer or from Play Online at www.lotterywest.wa.gov.au
