WA's Superdraw winners roll up to each claim $750,000 prizes

9 September 2015

Four of Western Australia's eight Division 1 Lotto winners have rolled up to Lotterywest this week to each claim their $750,000 Division 1 Lotto prize from the weekend's Superdraw.

WA's winners were amongst 28 from across the nation who shared in the $21 million Division 1 prize pool.

A Bassendean couple who purchased their winning ticket from Winners Circle Lottery Centre in Cloverdale said they nearly didn't buy the ticket.

"There was a bit of a queue to buy tickets and we were in a rush to get to an appointment so I stepped out of line, but something told me to get back in line and get the ticket. Listening to that strong felling paid off!" the woman said.

"We wrote our 'bucket list' five years ago, so I've dusted it off and we're ready to start living out some of our dreams."

On the couple's wish list was sharing the prize with close family and friends as well as a cruise through Japan.

"We don't have to think about how we'll live from week to week. Our bank account will never be in the red again," they said.

A Fremantle couple who collected their $750,000 Superdraw prize said they checked their winning ticket dozens of times before the news sunk in.

"I'd convinced myself I didn't have the last winning number, but after triple checking it over breakfast on Sunday morning, I looked at my dog and yelled I think we've won Lotto," the woman said.

The Fremantle couple said the win had got them 10 years ahead financially.

"Some travel and paying off our investment property are two things we'll do. The chains are finally off and we are free to do what we want," they said.

The winning ticket was purchased from Kardinya Park Newsagency and Cards.

Division 1 tickets from the Superdraw sold at Corfield News in Gosnells and Spencer Park Newsagency and Gift Shop in Albany have also been claimed, however Lotterywest is still waiting to hear from four others.

These tickets were sold at:

  • Corrigin Newsagency
  • Bluff Point Newsagency, Geraldton
  • Galleria News, Morley
  • The Lucky Charm South Hedland

Double your prizes in Divisions 2-6 tonight!

Lotto players will have the chance to double their prizes in Divisions 2-6 in tonight's Wednesday Lotto draw.

Tickets can be purchased until 6pm tonight from retailers in-store, from Play Online or through the Lotterywest App.

It's not just local winners that have something to celebrate following a Lotto draw - the WA community wins too with 33 cents of every dollar spent on Lotterywest Games supporting the local community.

The South Metropolitan Youth Link located in Fremantle received a $293,000 Lotterywest Grant last year to purchase equipment and furniture to support their engagement activities with disadvantaged young people.
