WA woman's bank account set to 'sky rocket' after Lotto windfall

30 July 2015

After a ten day wait, the sole winner of the Monday Lotto prize from 20 July has come forward to claim her prize.

The winner, a woman from south of the river, was holidaying in Broome when she thought she would purchase a Monday Lotto ticket on the spur of the moment.

She said she was in disbelief at having won a $1 million Division 1 Lotto prize.

"I'm in shock and denial and think I'll feel this way until I see my bank account sky rocket soon," said the woman.

The new millionaire plans to pay off her mortgage and tick items off a list of jobs around the home she'd always wanted to do.

Celebrations will begin when the winner receives the documents from the bank saying she officially owns her home.

"At the moment I only own a few rooms and half the lounge room!" joked the woman.

There's still time to get your $21 million Saturday Lotto Superdraw tickets

WA has been on an incredible winning streak over the past few weeks with six Division 1 Lotto winners in just ten days, including the record breaking $50 million Powerball winner last Thursday.

So far this year there have been 6.5 million WA winners who have shared in more than $278 million in prizes which is a good sign for local players in this weekend's Superdraw.

This Saturday's $21 million Superdraw invites players to dream about the possibilities if they become WA's next Division 1 Lotto winner with Lotterywest expecting to sell 820,000 tickets in the draw.

Tickets can be purchased by 6pm Saturday at Lotterywest retailers, Play Online at or the new Lotterywest app.

Not only are thousands of local winners expected following the Superdraw, $4.3 million is also expected to be raised from sales of tickets in the draw.
