WA scores $183,667 Soccer Pools prize

14 February 2012

Following Western Australia's three Division One Lotto wins from the weekend, the State has continued riding the winning wave after one local player picked up a Division One prize worth $183,647 in last night's Soccer Pools draw.

The winning ticket was purchased from Atwell Newsagency, the same outlet that sold Western Australia's last Division One Soccer Pools ticket worth $491,296 in July last year.

The outlet also struck Lotto luck in January last year, after selling a $500,000 Lotto ticket in a January Wednesday Lotto draw.

Owner of Atwell Newsagency Rolly Rinaldi said his outlet had been on a bit of a roll, with the winning tickets creating a lot of interest and excitement amongst his customers.

"We just hope we can continue and deliver more winners this year. Tonight's $15 million OZ Lotto jackpot would make the perfect Valentine's Day gift," he said.

Tickets for tonight's $15 million OZ Lotto jackpot are available until 5pm today from any Lotterywest retailer across the State or from Lotterywest's Play Online service at www.lotterywest.wa.gov.au

Last night's win brings the number of Western Australian Division One winners this year to 12. These winners have shared in $9.5 million worth of prize money.

It's not just Western Australia's Soccer Pools winner who will be feeling the 'love' today, so will the entire local community with 34 cents in every dollar spent on lottery products in this State returned to support hospitals, sports and arts groups, and thousands of not-for-profit and charity groups.

So far this year, Lotterywest has raised almost $20 million for the Western Australians in need.
