WA scoops entire $40 million OZ Lotto jackpot

22 March 2016

One winning ticket sold in Western Australia has taken home tonight’s entire $40 million OZ Lotto jackpot.

The $40 million win is the second largest in the State’s history and fifth equal largest in Australian Lotto history.

“It’s looking like another lucky year here in the West and we’re absolutely thrilled to have made someone out there in our State a multi-millionaire!” said Lotterywest CEO Paul Andrew.

“We saw a record breaking year of Division 1 Lotto winners in WA last year and tonight’s win sits closely behind our State’s biggest win of $50 million which was only won in July 2015,” Mr Andrew said.

84,113 other WA players picked up a prize in tonight’s OZ Lotto jackpot, including two lucky locals who each collected a Division 2 prize worth $31,761.

Lotterywest encourages everyone who purchased a ticket in tonight’s OZ Lotto jackpot to check their tickets for the winning numbers of 38, 32, 37, 9, 17, 19 and 1.

Mr Andrew said the WA community was also a winner tonight with support from players helping Lotterywest to raise $6.5 million for the local community over OZ Lotto’s six week jackpot roll.

Fingers crossed Lotto luck could return in just a few days when players will have another chance to win big in Thursday’s $30 million Powerball jackpot.

Players have until 6pm on Thursday to purchase their Powerball tickets from Lotterywest retailers’ in-store, through Play Online or by downloading the Lotterywest App.

Lotterywest is still waiting to hear from WA’s $40 million OZ Lotto winner.
