WA makes history taking out entire $50 million Powerball prize!
Western Australia has made history tonight after taking out the entire $50 million Division 1 prize pool in tonight's Powerball jackpot - the largest Lotto prize ever won in the State.
Prior to tonight, WA's highest prize of $30 million had been won four times in Lotto history, most recently in May.
Lotterywest CEO Paul Andrew said this was both a significant and exciting moment for Western Australia.
"We're absolutely thrilled with tonight's result which has rewritten WA's history books," Mr Andrew said.
"This win does not only hold an incredible $50 million prize, it's also our 50th Division 1 Lotto winner for this year."
"I'm sure this news will create great excitement and anticipation amongst local Lotto players and certainly amongst those who purchased a ticket in tonight's jackpot."
A further 112,931 other local players took home a prize in tonight's jackpot draw, including two players who scooped a Division 2 prize worth almost $75,000.
Tonight's $50 million Division 1 prize offer is the result of no one across the nation being able to match the game's winning numbers plus the Powerball for the last five weeks.
It wasn't just local winners that benefitted from this jackpot roll - an estimated $8.5 million has been raised over the jackpot run to support the WA community.
Lotterywest encourages all players who purchased a ticket in tonight's Powerball draw to check them as soon as possible for the winning numbers 3, 9, 27, 32, 25, 21 and the Powerball 18.
