WA delivers weekend Lotto hat trick
There’s more than just Australia Day to celebrate this week with WA producing three Division 1 Lotto tickets from the weekend’s Saturday Lotto draw.
The State’s winning tickets, each worth $802,299, were sold at:
• Myaree Newsextra Newsagency
• Swan View Newsagency
• Bunters We Never Sleep Newsagency and Deli in East Victoria Park
Myaree’s winning ticket was a 10 member syndicate. The 10 game Systems 8 ticket bringing each share’s value to just over $82,000.
Owner of Myaree Newsextra Newsagency Wayne Martinovich, who organised the syndicate, said although this was his first syndicate to win Division 1, it followed a run of other Division 1 winning tickets including one worth $1 million just three months ago.
“We’re just a lucky shop! We’ve now sold seven big winners in six years,” he said.
“It’s fantastic to have finally delivered a Division 1 winning syndicate and to reward all those loyal and supportive customers of ours. Some of the syndicate members have been playing our syndicates since we started here 12 years ago,” Wayne said.
A man from Myaree was the first to claim his $82,093 syndicate share earlier today, saying that it was just the right amount.
“I’m not greedy and I’m happy with that prize. It will help reduce our mortgage and make life a little more comfortable,” he said.
The Myaree winner said he found out he was holding a winning share yesterday after checking the numbers in the newspaper.
“I couldn’t believe it. I checked the ticket about six times before getting my wife to check it. When we realised it was definitely a wining share we were simply stunned,” he said.
Lotterywest is still waiting to hear from the winners who purchased their winning Division 1 Lotto tickets from Swan View Newsagency and Bunters We Never Sleep Newsagency and Deli in East Victoria Park.
WA’s Division 1 winners tally for the year has now reached 11. These winners have shared in $10.2 million worth of prizes.
