Triple treats delivered to weekend WA Lotto players

3 November 2014

They say things come in threes and this was the case with three WA players each picking up a $1.5 million Division 1 Lotto prize in the weekend's Saturday Lotto Superdraw.

The winning tickets were sold at Morley City Lottery Centre, Nextra Express Ellenbrook and Good Fortune Lottery Centre in Maddington.

While Lotterywest is still waiting for the winning tickets sold at the Ellenbrook and Maddington outlets to be claimed, a syndicate of 10 people have shared in the winning ticket sold at Morley City Lottery Centre. The winners each collected a $150,000 prize.

Owner of Morley City Lottery Centre Nghia Dinh said he was over the moon when he realised he had made 10 of his customers Lotto winners.

"I'm so happy! I have already spoken to a few of the winners today who are very excited too. Luck is surrounding my store," he said.

One of the syndicate members who visited Lotterywest Head Office this morning to claim his $150,000 share said the prize would pave the way forward for a much more enjoyable retirement.

"I can now travel the world with my wife as well as help out my children and grandchildren," he said.

More than 205,000 other WA players picked up a Superdraw prize in the other Divisions, including 31 players who each won a Division 2 prize worth $9,544.

It's not just local winners that benefited from the Superdraw, with Lotterywest raising more than $4 million for the WA community.

Community groups to benefit from Lotterywest funds include the Independent Living Centre of Western Australia located in Morley which received a $99,435 Lotterywest Grant this year for information technology to enhance a toy library service it provides for children with disabilities and their families.
