This is not a prank; three WA Lotto players have won Division 1 over the weekend!
A big weekend for Lotto brought in seven new Saturday Lotto winners, three of which were from Western Australia.
WA's winning tickets were sold at Armadale Newsagency, Princess Road News & Lotto in Balga and Manjimup Newsagency.
A family from Manjimup were at Lotterywest Head Office bright and early eager to claim their Division 1 prize from their ticket purchased at Manjimup Newsagency.
The excited family said they watched as the Lotto numbers were drawn on TV Saturday evening then checked their small pile of tickets not knowing that the very last in the pile held a $570,620 Division 1 prize.
"My partner thought I was lying as I've played pranks on friends before about winning Lotto but this time I actually had. I was pretty keen to win one day and now I've done it!" said the man.
With their extra half a million dollars, the winners plan to get out of renting and buy a house, treat themselves to a new car and go on a well-deserved holiday.
"We got no sleep on Saturday night, we stayed up looking at the numbers and checking the ticket trying to get into our heads that it was real," said the family.
Lotterywest has not yet heard from WA's other two weekend winners from Princess Road News & Lotto in Balga and Armadale Newsagency.
It's not just local Lotto winners that benefit following Lotto draws, with 34 cents of every dollar being directed to help support the WA community.
Groups to receive this support include the Shire of Manjimup who received a $1,044,000 Lotterywest Grant in June towards construction of the Manjimup Wellness and Lifestyle Centre which offers aged care support for people living independently in the South West.
