Syndicate of ten share in $30 million OZ Lotto prize
A syndicate of ten have shared in last night's $30 million OZ Lotto prize - they will each take home $3 million.
The 'retailer group syndicate', was created by The Lucky Lottery Centre in Booragoon with winning shares sold at both the Booragoon outlet and at Reeds Lottery Centre in Fremantle.
Owner of the Lucky Lottery Centre, Soon-Chiang Yong, said he had personally chosen the numbers for the winning syndicate.
"I can't believe it, it feels great to know these numbers are the winning ones. I based them on previous draws and selected ones which had not come up in a while. I hoped for the best and I'm thrilled with the result," he said.
Mr Yong said he is hoping the luck will continue on the syndicates he has set up for tomorrow night's $50 million Powerball jackpot. The draw is the largest Lotto prize offered across the nation this year.
Lotterywest spokesperson Pina Compagnone said with luck currently on WA's side, it is a sign of more good things to come tomorrow night.
"We've had three millionaires and one multi-millionaire in less than a week and our tally of Division 1 Lotto winners for the year is now at 37, so let's hope luck rolls into tomorrow night's jackpot," she said.
If a single player takes home tomorrow night's $50 million prize, it will rewrite the history books as the largest Lotto prize won in this State.
Last night's $30 million prize is the equal largest prize to be won in WA. This record has only been matched three times previous to last night - in 2001, 2007 and in 2013.
It's not just our local winners that benefit from jackpot draws, so does the WA community with last night's $30 million OZ Lotto jackpot and tomorrow night's $50 million Powerball jackpot set to raise an estimated $5 million to support WA charity groups.
Tickets for Thursday night's $50 million Powerball jackpot are available until 6pm Thursday from Lotterywest retailers or Play Online at www.lotterywest.wa.gov.au
