Superdraw delivers four WA Lotto millionaires
It may have been a cold and wet weekend in WA but things are looking much brighter for local Lotto players after the weekend's $22 million Saturday Lotto Superdraw delivered four winning Division 1 Lotto tickets, each worth $1 million!
WA's winning tickets were sold at:
- Kardinya Park Newsagency and Cards
- Belmont News, Cloverdale
- Mullaloo News and Lotteries
- Forest Lakes Newsagency, Thornlie
Lotterywest is waiting for the prizes to officially be claimed and anticipates a number of smiles as the winning ticket sold at Belmont News will be shared amongst a syndicate of 60 members.
The syndicate ticket also collected many other prize Divisions, bringing the grand total to $1.2 million; each winner will take home a prize worth just over $20,000.
Manager of Belmont News Mark Piani, who has only been working at the store for the last six weeks, joked he had bought Lotto luck with him.
"It's awesome news! I'm thinking about getting a megaphone so I can share the news with everyone," he said.
Mr Piani said the last Division 1 Lotto ticket sold at Belmont News was about two years ago. This ticket worth $3 million was also shared by a syndicate.
Meanwhile, owner of Mullaloo News and Lotteries Delnaz Roussilhes, said her store had experienced aits fair share of big winners over the 23 years she has run it.
"It's not bad for a small store like ours! We're always smiling and our customers love the old style music we play; it gives them a lucky feeling," she said.
Another 224,328 WA players picked up a prize in the weekend's Superdraw, including 35 lucky local who picked a Division 2 prize worth $7,871.85.
It wasn't just the thousands of WA winners that had something to smile about following the Superdraw, support for the game also helped Lotterywest raise $4.5 million for the WA community.
WA community groups to benefit from this funding include Volunteer Marine Rescue Western Australia located in Belmont, which received a $318,600 Lotterywest Grant last year to help with the delivery of their services.
