Powerball powers to $50 million!

24 December 2015

After no one across the nation could match the six winning numbers plus the Powerball in tonight’s $40 million Powerball jackpot, the game has powered to an incredible $50 million Division 1 prize offer next week.

The multi-million dollar prize will go up for grabs on New Year’s Eve and could give a financial boost to a lucky player in 2016.

The jackpot follows a record breaking year of Division 1 Lotto winners in WA, most recently being a $30 million OZ Lotto prize from Tuesday night which remains unclaimed. The winning ticket was sold at Galleria News in Morley.

To date this year, 98 WA Division 1 Lotto winners have shared in almost $263 million worth of prizes.

Lotterywest spokesperson Pina Compagnone said while no player managed to take home tonight’s Division 1 prize pool, there were 104,047 prizes won across WA including two Division 2 players who each scooped $105,116.

WA players have until 6pm next Thursday to purchase tickets in the Powerball draw in-store from Lotterywest retailers, through Play Online and the Lotterywest App.

It’s not just thousands of winners that are set to benefit following tonight’s jackpot, support for the game has also helped Lotterywest to raise over $8 million for the WA community over the jackpot roll.

Another chance to win in $30 million Megadraw!

WA players have another chance to win big in the $30 million Saturday Lotto Megadraw on 2 January 2016.

The biggest Saturday Lotto event of the year is expected to capture the imagination of Lotto players across the State.

“In WA we expect to sell about 1.2 million tickets in the Megadraw. We encourage players to get their tickets early, with the day of the draw always proving extremely busy,” Ms Compagnone said.
