Powerball climbs to $70 million!
After no one across the nation could once again match tonight’s six winning numbers plus the Powerball, the game has climbed to a $70 million jackpot offer – the equal second largest amount in the game’s 20 year history.
Although no player took out the Division 1 prize pool, 121,280 WA players took home a Powerball prize tonight.
Lotterywest spokesperson Pina Compagnone said WA had rounded out the year with a record number of Division 1 Lotto winners.
“It’s been a fantastic year for the State welcoming 99 Division 1 winners who have shared in an incredible $263 million worth of prizes. This is the most we’ve seen in WA’s Lotto history,” Ms Compagnone said.
WA players won’t have to wait until next Thursday’s $70 million Powerball jackpot for their chance to win big with this Saturday’s $30 million Megadraw taking place this weekend.
The annual Megadraw is the biggest Saturday Lotto event of the year and it’s estimated that 1.2 million tickets will be sold in WA for the draw.
“Our last Megadraw welcomed more than 350,000 WA winners who shared in over$10 million in prizes, so we’re crossing our fingers that Lotto luck is here to stay and we celebrate many more winners following Saturday night’s draw.”
Players have until 6pm on Saturday to purchase their Megadraw tickets and until 6pm next Thursday to get their tickets in the $70 million Powerball jackpot. Tickets are available in-store, through Play Online and the Lotterywest App.
Both the Megadraw and Powerball jackpot roll are also set to raise a combined $20 million to support the WA community.
Players are encouraged to play responsibly and spend only what they can afford. The cost of a ticket can be shared by joining with family, friends or work colleagues to form a syndicate.
