Padbury Lotto winner to spoil wife to the tune of $408,302

10 August 2016

Both of Western Australia’s latest Division 1 winners from the weekend’s Saturday Lotto draw have officially claimed their $408,302 prizes.

A retired couple from Padbury revealed themselves as the owners of the winning ticket purchased at DJ’s Lucky Lottery in Hillarys.

The winners thought they would be collecting a lesser prize amount from Lotterywest and were shocked when they were whisked away into the Winners Room and told they were Division 1 winners.

“We never thought this would actually happen to us, we couldn’t be more excited!” said the couple.

“Now we can book the holiday to Spain we’ve always dreamed about.”

The man also plans to spoil his wife for her upcoming milestone birthday and beyond.

“She can have and do whatever she wants! New frocks, you name it and it’s hers. To the limit of $408,302 of course,” laughed the man.

The winners who purchased their ticket from Leeming Lottery Centre and Newsagency were next in the Winners Room to claim their Saturday Lotto prize.

The retired couple from south of the river said their good fortune will pave the way for a more comfortable retirement, free from financial worries.

They are also excited to now have the means to begin long overdue home renovations.

It’s not just our winners who get to celebrate after $281 million was returned to the WA community through Lotterywest Grants last financial year.

In May, a Lotterywest Grant of $46,740 was given to the City of Joondalup towards upgrades to the Shepherds Bush Park BMX Track in Joondalup which will provide opportunities for young people to participate in recreational activities.

Double your prizes tonight!

Lotto players will have the chance to win double the prize money across Divisions 2 to 6 in tonight's Wednesday Lotto draw.

The Double Win Day promotion took place in this week’s Monday’s Lotto draw delivering almost 12,000 WA winners. This included two locals who pocked a $13,285 Division 2 prize.

WA players have until 6pm to purchase tickets in tonight’s Wednesday Lotto draw from Lotterywest stores, through Lotterywest Play Online or the Lotterywest App.

Double Win Day will run across two weeks and apply to next week’s Monday Lotto and Wednesday Lotto draws.
