OZ Lotto leaps to $60 million
After six weeks of no one across Australia being able to match OZ Lotto's seven winning numbers, the game has jackpotted to $60 million, the highest Lotto prize offered in Australia this year.
Although there have been no Division 1 winners over the game's jackpot roll, more than 360,000 Western Australian players have shared in prizes worth almost $7.2 million.
Lotterywest spokesperson Pina Compagnone said if WA's winning streak this year was anything to go by, we could see luck return next Tuesday night.
"Our Division 1 tally for the year has already reached 60! This has included some incredible wins - a $30 million win in May which was shared amongst a ten share syndicate and then a $50 million win in July which rewrote the Lotto history books as the largest win in the State," she said.
Ms Compagnone said it wasn't just the thousands of local winners that benefited from these jackpot draws, so did the WA community.
"Over the last six weeks, support for the OZ Lotto jackpot run has helped us to raised almost $8 million for the WA community," she said.
WA players have until 6pm next Tuesday to purchase a ticket in the $60 million OZ Lotto draw from their Lotterywest retailer, Play Online at lotterywest.wa.gov.au or via the Lotterywest App.
WA delivers Set for Life 2nd Prize winner
One lucky WA player has taken home a 2nd Prize in Set for Life worth almost $10,000.
Set for Life was launched across Australia last Monday (3 August) and is the first national lottery game to be introduced in almost 20 years.
The winning ticket was sold at Canning Vale Newsagency. Owner of the store Phil De Giorgio said lots of his customers had been very enthusiastic about the new game.
"It's been very popular with our customers and we're looking forward to letting them know that someone is almost $10,000 richer," he said.
Phil said it had also been a very busy day yesterday leading into last night's $40 million OZ Lotto jackpot. He said things were set to get even busier next week.
"The momentum is building and we are ready to go!" he said.
