OZ Lotto and Powerball players play for bigger prizes

14 June 2011

The price of OZ Lotto and Powerball will increase this month.

As OZ Lotto and Powerball are national games, the price change will happen in each Australian State and Territory on the same date.

The price of OZ Lotto will increase from $1.00 to $1.10 per game (excluding retailer commission). It's the first price increase since OZ Lotto was launched in 1994.

The price of Powerball will increase from 65c to 75c per game (excluding retailer commission).

Lotterywest Chief Executive Officer Jan Stewart said the change will help keep the value of the prizes which players expect from these premium games and will also help raise more funds for the Western Australian community.

Lotterywest estimates that an additional $4 million each year will be raised for the community as a result of the OZ Lotto and Powerball price change.

The first OZ Lotto draw to incorporate the price change will be Draw 905 on 21 June, 2011 and the first draw to incorporate the price change to Powerball will be Draw 788 on 23 June, 2011.

A complete list of the new prices for the various ticket types for OZ Lotto and Powerball is available on the Lotterywest website at and at all Lotterywest retailers around the State.
