Non-stop laughter for Canning Vale's $2.1 million Lotto winners
Canning Vale is WA's latest spot to be struck by Lotto luck after selling a ticket worth $2.1 million in the weekend's Saturday Lotto draw.
The winning ticket was sold at Livingston Lot-O-Luck and has now brought the tally of WA Division 1 Lotto winners for the year to 44.
A family from Canning Vale has wasted no time coming forward to officially claim this multi-million dollar prize and said they have not stopped laughing since learning the news.
"I was actually feeling a bit depressed on Saturday night but all that changed after I checked my Lotto ticket. I saw I had all the winning numbers; I thought I must be dreaming!" she said.
"I phoned my husband straight away to tell him the news and we haven't stopped laughing since."
The family said the multi-million dollar win has taken some financial pressure off and will help them pay off their mortgage and even set them up for an early retirement.
Owner of Livingston Lot-O-Luck Phil Di Giorgio said he had a strong feeling that he would sell a big winner soon.
"We're always positive and thought a big win was close. We're so happy to have made one of our customer's $2.1 million richer. It's great when a win goes to someone that really needs it. After all helping the community is what playing Lotterywest games is all about."
This year's 44 Division 1 Lotto winners in WA have shared in almost $83 million worth of prizes.
It's not just local Lotto winners that benefit following these draws, with 33 cents of every dollar being directed to help support the WA community.
Groups to receive this support include the Fairholme Disability Support Group located in Canning Vale which were given a $2,787 Lotterywest Grant last year to purchase equipment for the group's activities which support people with a disability and mental illness.
