New Lotterywest board appointments
Premier Colin Barnett today announced the appointment of two new commissioners to the Lotterywest board - Garry Trinder, who recently retired from the position of chief information officer at Edith Cowan University, and Andrea Hall, a Perth-based partner within KPMG's Advisory Services.
"Both new commissioners bring a wealth of business experience to the board of Lotterywest," Mr Barnett said.
"With an anticipated sales turnover of $730million this year, as well as $240million returned to the Western Australian community and $383million to lottery winners last financial year, it is vital Lotterywest commissioners have a wide range of skills in business as well as an understanding of the community sector. I am delighted that Mr Trinder and Ms Hall have accepted these appointments."
Mr Trinder, who takes up his appointment immediately, has more than 40 years experience in the information technology industry in both private and government sectors.
In 2007, he was awarded the prestigious WA Information Technology and Telecommunications Award which recognised his outstanding contribution to the State's industry. Prior to his role at Edith Cowan University, Mr Trinder held a range of senior consultancy and management roles most recently with MercyCare Group.
Ms Hall, whose term will commence at the end of March, has more than 20 years of experience in external audit, internal audit, governance and advisory services.
Before her current role, she was an external audit manager for KPMG and managed the Perth-based finance team for WMC Resources Ltd. She is a member of the Murdoch University Audit and Risk Committee and recently stepped down as chair of the WA Council for the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
The Premier expressed his appreciation to outgoing board members Colin Campbell-Fraser, who completed his term in December, and Roger Lewis whose term finishes at the end of March.
"Both commissioners have served their terms during a time of record business success and innovative grant making to the WA community," he said.
"On behalf of the State Government and the community I thank them for their contribution."
