Morley revealed as seller of $30 million OZ Lotto prize, while excitement surrounds WA with another Powerball jackpot tonight worth $40 million!

24 December 2015

After a local player’s luck on Tuesday night won them the entire $30 million OZ Lotto prize pool it’s a good sign the winning streak may stay in the State with tonight’s Powerball jackpot offering players a $40 million prize.

While there’s been no word as yet from WA’s newest Lotto multi-millionaire, we can reveal that Galleria News in Morley was the store that sold the winning ticket.

This is the third and largest Division 1 winning ticket Galleria News has sold this year following a $750,000 winning Saturday Lotto ticket in September and an $835,719 Saturday Lotto prize in July.

The son of the store owner, Luke Ferrier who also owns Karrinyup News, is delighted the family businesses are making so many of their customers Division 1 winners.

“In our family we own four outlets - Galleria News, Karrinyup News, Winners Circle Lottery Centre and Belmont News and across the stores we’ve sold customers five Division 1 winning tickets this year, it is incredible!” said Luke.

“We’re excited to spread the news about the Galleria News winner and are very happy that the money has stayed in WA.”

$40 million Powerball offer Christmas Eve

Not only is today Christmas Eve it’s also a chance for WA Lotto players to win in tonight’s $40 million Powerball jackpot.

“We’re hoping we can make more customers happy this Christmas by selling another Division 1 winner tonight!” said Luke Ferrier, owner of Karrinyup News.

Today is the last day to purchase a ticket in tonight’s draw and it is expected that during stores' busiest hour between 4pm and 5pm terminals will be printing approximately 490 tickets every minute.

Players can pick up a ticket in-store, through Play Online and the Lotterywest App until 6pm tonight.

It’s not just WA’s winners who have reason to celebrate after their Lotto wins with 34 cents out of every dollar spent on Lotterywest Games going back to support the local community through our Grants.

Over the last five weeks of Powerball jackpotting, $7.3 million has been raised for the WA community.
