Morley delivers Monday Lotto millionaire
Western Australia has produced its second Division 1 Lotto winner for the year after one local player picked up a $1 million prize in last night's Monday Lotto draw.
The winning ticket was sold at Carramar Lottery Centre and News in Morley.
Last night's win comes only days after the State delivered a $2.7 million Division 1 Lotto prize in Saturday night's $30 million Megadraw. Both Division 1 Lotto tickets are still unclaimed.
Owner of Carramar Lottery Centre and News Milli Gohil said it was the first Division 1 Lotto ticket he had sold at the outlet.
"I've been here for three years and this is our first big winner. It's fantastic news for us and our customers. We're so excited we have even created a winners song we're singing in-store," he said.
Mr Gohil said he had a feeling he was going to sell a big winner; he just thought it would be in the weekend's Megadraw.
"It's a few days later than I thought; but we finally got one!" he said.
A further 10,496 WA players picked up a prize in last night's Monday Lotto draw, including two players set to collect a Division 2 prize worth $6,939.85.
It's not just WA Lotto winners that have something to celebrate following a Lotto draw. The WA community is also the winner with 33 cents of every dollar spent on lottery games going back to support local hospitals, sports and arts groups and thousands of not-for-profit organisations across the State.
Last year the Independent Living Centre of Western Australia located in Morley were given a $99,435 Lotterywest Grant for information technology to enhance a toy library service for children with a disability and their families.
