Million dollar Lotto luck strikes WA again...could it be three times lucky with tonight's $40 million jackpot?

18 April 2013

Just two nights after million dollar Lotto luck struck WA on Monday night, the State's winning streak has continued this week with another local player picking up a $1 million prize in last night's Wednesday Lotto draw.

The winning ticket was sold via Lotterywest's Play Online service. It's the second Division 1 Lotto ticket to be sold on Play Online since it was launched in February 2011 and follows a $1.3 million Lotto ticket sold online in January this year.

More than 9,700 other WA players picked up a prize in the draw's other Divisions, including 5,661 players who collected a $12.50 Division 6 prize.

Lotterywest spokesperson Pina Compagnone said she was hoping Lotto luck would return again tonight when a $40 million jackpot goes on offer.

"They say things come in threes, so we are crossing our fingers that this will be the case and we see another big winner in tonight's Powerball jackpot," she said.

Ms Compagnone said the State had already experienced a big Powerball win this year when a Noranda family collected the entire $20 million Division 1 prize pool in February.

Players have until 6pm today to pick up a ticket in tonight's Powerball jackpot from Lotterywest retailers across the State or from Play Online at www.lotterywest.wa.gov.au

WA players can register for Play Online at www.lotterywest.wa.gov.au
Members need to be 16 years or older and a WA resident.

It's not just local Lotto players who are set to benefit from tonight's jackpot with Lotterywest also expecting to raise $7 million for the WA community from the draw.
