Metro and country winners share in State's first Division One win for 2011

Western Australia's first Division One wins for 2011 have arrived after two local players scooped almost $700,000 in the weekend's Saturday Lotto draw.

The two wins were spread between metropolitan and country Western Australia, with the winning tickets purchased at Good News Newsagency in Kambalda and Bassendean Newsagency.

Owner of Good News Newsagency in Kambalda, Susan Schoch, said there had been a lot of excitement amongst the community.

"The excitement started yesterday with many locals coming into the store to check if they had the winning ticket. I hope it is one of our local, regular customers," she said.

"This is a great start to the New Year and I hope we can keep rolling out the winning tickets."

Lotto winners are not the only ones who benefit from Lotterywest games; 33 cents in every dollar spent is returned to Western Australian health, sports, the arts and a large number of charitable and community organisations.

Over 2010, Lotterywest delivered over 1,300 grants to local community groups totalling more than $115 million.
