Latest Lotto winner to upgrade to deluxe washing machine

23 March 2015

A Gosnells man has taken Western Australia's Division 1 Lotto tally up to 17 for the year after his weekend win.

Good Fortune Lottery Centre in Maddington sold the Saturday Lotto ticket which delivered the man $473,896.

When the winner came to Lotterywest Head Office this morning he thought he would be collecting a few thousand dollars. He couldn't believe it when he was whisked away into the Winners' Room and told the news.

"I thought I had only won a lower Division and was really happy it would get me a new washing machine. Now I guess I can upgrade to the deluxe model!" said the stunned man.

The ticket which the man's father had bought for him 'just because' has opened up many doors.

"I'm currently boarding and have never owned my own home. Now my first home can be more than a dream," said the winner.

The man also plans to share his win with his brother and go on his second ever overseas holiday.

Lucky giant Lotto balls surrounding WA

The $21 million Saturday Lotto Superdraw this weekend could be the perfect opportunity for WA players to add their name to the Division 1 winners list.

Lotterywest recommends players keep their eyes peeled for some of the luckiest Lotto numbers on six giant balls across Perth.

To find out where the giant Lotto balls will be located over the next week, visit the Lotterywest Games Facebook page which will publish hints each day.

Tickets for the Superdraw are available until 6pm Saturday from Lotterywest retailers across the State or from Lotterywest Play Online at

It's not just our weekend winners who have reason to rejoice after their Lotto wins with 33 cents out of every dollar spent going back to support the local community.

The City of Gosnells received support last year towards a trail construction at Sixty Foot Falls in Ellis Brook Valley to improve access to an area of complex geology and rich flora diversity on the Darling Scarp.
