  • IT equipment upgrades to improve organisation efficiency
  • People with disability to benefit from more responsive services

The efficiency of one of Australia's biggest providers of therapy services to people with disability is set to improve, thanks to a $890,431 Lotterywest grant announced today by Disability Services Minister Helen Morton.

The grant will be used to upgrade Therapy Focus' information technology infrastructure, customer relationship management system and internal IT services.

Mrs Morton said Therapy Focus' outdated equipment was affecting the speed at which the organisation could deliver its services. The grant will be used for new computer hardware, software and IT professional services to improve efficiency.

"Technology has a massive part to play in contemporary business efficiency," she said.

"This Lotterywest grant means that Therapy Focus can continue to deliver efficient, effective and contemporary services, which is especially important now when so much is changing in the disability services sector."

The not-for-profit organisation operates a range of therapy programs, including early childhood and school age intervention services, specialist equipment programs, a continence management program for children and community inclusion programs.

"The State Government is pleased to support organisations like Therapy Focus, which support people with disability to enjoy all that life has to offer," the Minister said.

"This reflects the heart of the Count Me In vision, that we all live in welcoming communities that facilitate citizenship, friendship, mutual support and a fair go for everyone."
