Five WA players each pick up $1.2 million in weekend Superdraw

11 May 2015

WA has taken home its fair share of big Lotto wins in the weekend's $21 million Saturday Lotto Superdraw, with five locals each scooping a Division 1 Lotto prize worth $1,235,294.

These Division 1 Lotto winners were amongst 17 nationally who shared in the $21 million prize pool.

The State's winning tickets were spread across metro and regional WA and were sold at:

  • Eaton Fair Lottery Kiosk
  • Mandurah City News
  • The Lucky Charm Victoria Park
  • Tuckerbox Stores in Kununurra
  • Heathridge Newsagency

Owner of Eaton Fair Lottery Kiosk David Rodgers said it didn't take his kiosk long to strike Lotto luck after only opening five months ago.

"What an incredible result! This has created a lot of excitement amongst the community and there is a real buzz surrounding the shopping centre," he said.

"You draw some satisfaction in knowing that you have played a small part in changing someone's life!"

Over 212,000 other WA players picked up a prize in the Superdraw, including 26 locals who pocketed a Division 2 prize worth $8,911.

WA's tally of Division 1 winners for the year has now reached 31. These winners have shared in almost $40 million worth of prize money.

It's not just the thousands of local winners that benefited following the Superdraw; support from players also helped Lotterywest to raise over $4 million for the WA community.

Local community groups to receive this support include the Shire of Dardanup who was given a $100,000 Lotterywest grant earlier this year to help with the development of a playground as part of the Eaton foreshore redevelopment.
