Eight WA winners take home Division 1 Superdraw prize

7 September 2015

The weekend's $21 million Saturday Lotto Superdraw spread a lot of joy across WA with eight WA players each taking home a Division 1 prize worth $750,000.

WA's winning tickets were spread across regional and metro WA and sold at:

  • Corrigin Newsagency
  • Bluff Point Newsagency in Geraldton
  • Corfield News in Gosnells
  • Galleria News in Morley
  • Winners Circle Lottery Centre in Cloverdale
  • Spencer Park Newsagency and Gift Shop in Albany
  • Kardinya Park Newsagency and Cards
  • The Lucky Charm South Hedland

For the Mid West town of Geraldton, it was the third Division 1 Lotto ticket sold there in just over three weeks.

Owner of Bluff Point Newsagency Val Casley said the news was unreal and was creating so much excitement across Geraldton.

"We're all just absolutely ecstatic, the staff and the customers! There is such a vibrant vibe surrounding the town with everyone thinking they might just be the next big winner," she said.

"I honestly don't know what to put this winning streak down to but I'm quite confident it will continue. It's all happening here and it's just great!"

Galleria News in Morley is another store which is no stranger to Lotto luck. It's the second Division 1 Lotto ticket the store has sold this year and the fourth sold in Morley.

Kate Ferrier from Galleria News said she had a gut feeling another big win was just around the corner.

"As soon as I saw the winning numbers I just knew we'd sold another one. We're lucky in Lotto and it's going to continue," she said.

Over 222,000 other WA players picked up a prize in the weekend's Superdraw, including 20 locals who collected a $7,847 Division 2 prize.

The Superdraw also helped Lotterywest to raise more than $4 million to support the WA community. Local groups to benefit from this funding include the Weld Square Primary School River Rangers in Morley. The group were given a $15,000 Lotterywest Grants last year for equipment and bus hire to support their development and conservation activities.

Lotterywest is still waiting to hear from WA's Division 1 Superdraw winners.

Geraldton million dollar Wednesday Lotto win claimed

A Mid-West couple have come forward to claim their $1 million win from last Wednesday's Lotto draw.

The couple, who purchased the ticket from Geraldton Lottery Centre, said it was a welcomed win after struggling for most of their lives.

"We've always been on struggle street so it's just wonderful to have some extra money in our pockets. The main thing on our spending list is some much needed home renovations," they said.

The couple's winning ticket was based on their own numbers which were a mix of family birthdays and numbers at random.

"We've been playing them for years, since Lotto started. Our advice is to keep going with your numbers, you'll get there eventually."

This Wednesday's Lotto draw (Draw 3485) will offer double the prizes from Divisions 2-6.

Tickets can be purchased by 6pm this Wednesday in-store from retailers, through Play Online ( or by downloading Lotterywest App.
