Changes to televised Lotto results

4 March 2016

HOLDING STATEMENT

Changes to televised Lotto results

Commencing on Monday 7 March 2016, the way Lotto results are televised on Channel 7 and GWN7 for Lotto draws with Division 1 prizes under $20 million will change. Results will be superimposed across the bottom of the screen and be read by the presenter.

Monday and Wednesday Lotto will air at the end of Today Tonight and OZ Lotto, Powerball and Saturday Lotto will be shown at the end of Seven News.

For Division 1 prizes of $20 million and above there will be no change to the full barrel draw that is currently aired on Channel 7 and GWN7c.

Should players prefer to watch the full barrel draw for Monday Lotto, OZ Lotto, Wednesday Lotto, Powerball and Saturday Lotto (regardless of jackpot level), they will be aired on 7TWO at approximately 8.45pm.

Players are also able to access Lotto results through the following channels:

  • Visit the ‘Results’ section of the Lotterywest website at www.lotterywest.wa.gov.au/results and the Lotterywest App.
  • Subscribe to receive results automatically. Players can subscribe at www.lotterywest.wa.gov.au/results/@@results-email
  • Telephone the results line on 1900 919 958. Calls cost 44 cents per minute (including GST) plus a 15 cent connection fee. Mobiles and pay phones cost extra.
  • Visit a Lotterywest in-store to use the ticket checker
  • In The West Australian Newspaper

The decision to change the way we televise Lotto results is an outcome of both parties looking for business efficiencies while still providing the core service. Research was also conducted with our players on how they access results to support the decision to make the change.
