Beechboro holds its breath for the new Wednesday Lotto millionaire

21 May 2015

It's been a number of years since Springs News in Beechboro last sold a Division 1 winning Lotto ticket, but last night changed that.

Wednesday Lotto's Double Win Day saw 21,370 local players double their Division 2-6 prizes including four Western Australian's winning a doubled Division 2 prize of $11,226.

One lucky WA player also scored a $1 million Division 1 prize from Springs News.

Owner of Springs News, William Yeung couldn't be happier that luck has returned to his store.

"We were definitely due to sell another Division 1 winning ticket. I can't wait to tell the rest of the staff when they come in," said William.

William has been holding his breath while customers check their Lotto tickets wondering if they could be the new millionaire!

"I'm hoping it's one of our regular customers but I will be happy for whoever it is. This could change someone's life!" said William.

Springs News is hoping to keep the luck flowing to local customers by selling another Division 1 winning ticket in tonight's $30 million Powerball jackpot.

Powerball has jackpotted to $30 million tonight

Tonight's $30 million Powerball jackpot is another chance for local Lotto players to add their names to WA's ever increasing Division 1 tally.

Purchase your tickets for the draw by 6pm tonight from retailers across the State or from Lotterywest's Play Online service at

It's not just the local winners that benefit when playing Lotterywest Games, so does the entire WA community.

Community organisations to receive Lotterywest support include Brockman House Inc. in Beechboro who received a $39,810 Lotterywest Grant late last year towards a feasibility study in constructing a multi-purpose community centre in Altone.
