Apples and bananas for $16.6 million Powerball winner!
After waiting a week for our $16.6 million Powerball winner to come forward, a self-proclaimed 'bloke' from north of the river wandered into Lotterywest Head Office on Thursday afternoon.
The winning Slikpik 50 ticket was sold at Padbury News and Post in the $50 million Powerball Jackpot on Thursday 16 October.
When all the fanfare about the big win was circulating last week, he took his time to get used to the idea and 'chill out'.
When he saw the headline in the newspaper he just knew it was him. "I just had a gut instinct that the $16.6 million was mine," said the new multi-millionaire.
After checking the ticket at a Lotterywest Retailer, and being told to make his way to Head Office to claim his prize, he decided to go shopping for apples and bananas instead!
As Western Australia's newest multi-millionaire, he could certainly claim the crown as the most eligible bachelor in town!
Whilst our newest winner had no imminent plans to spend his multi-millions, he has a love of travel and getting off the beaten track, so he wants to keep exploring wild and wonderful places.
He also wants to make sure he can help out a mate if they are in need.
Our winner has no plans to give up his job as he works with a great bunch of people whom he considers some of his greatest friends.
He's celebrated with a couple of quiet tipples of his favourite whiskey but has no grand party plans.
Saturday Lotto Superdraw
If this year's string of Lotto fortune is anything to go by, things are looking good for WA players in the upcoming $21 million Saturday Lotto Superdraw on 1 November.
Tickets are available from Lotterywest retailers and via Play Online at www.lotterywest.wa.gov.au until 6pm this Saturday 1 November.
It's not just Lotto winners who'll be celebrating, with the Superdraw set to raise almost $4.3 million for the WA community.
