Two WA winners scoop entire $2 million Monday Lotto prize

Lotto fortune has struck again in our State this week after the nation's only two Division One winning tickets from last night's Monday Lotto draw were sold in Western Australia.

The winning tickets, worth $1 million each, were sold at Meadow Springs Lottery Centre and Newsagency and Inglewood Amcal Chemist and Civic News.

Owners of Meadow Springs Lottery Centre and Newsagency Bruno and Carmel Italiano said it was the second Monday Lotto Division One ticket their outlet has sold in two and a half years.

"This is great news. We are so excited and we can't wait to tell our staff when they arrive later this morning. We all want to know which one of us sold the winning ticket," Ms Italiano said.

"It's a very tight knit community here, so we hope the winner is one of our locals as there are so many nice people."

The winning ticket sold at Meadow Springs, follows a Division One Monday Lotto ticket worth almost $385,000 which the outlet sold in July 2008.

Last night's winning tickets brings Western Australia's 2010 Monday Lotto Division One winners tally to seven. These winners have shared in almost $10 million.

With Lotto players investing in their favourite game, 33 cents in every dollar spent on Lotterywest products is returned to the local community.

This year Mandurah Performing Arts received a Lotterywest grant for $26,500 to develop their performance program for the Mandurah region.
