Another million dollar Lotto boost to country WA

Western Australia's South West region has continued its Lotto winning streak after a Division One prize of over $1 million was sold in the region from the weekend's Saturday Lotto draw.

The State's winning ticket was sold at Callows Corner Lottery Centre in Busselton.

Owners of the outlet Anthony and Elizabeth Callow, who have owned the outlet for 38 years, said they were very excited to be amongst the South West's Lotto fortune.

"Up until a few years ago we had sold several Division One winning tickets, so it's great to finally have another win," Mrs Callow said.

"There is a lot of excitement in the community today. There are quite a few tourists in the area at the moment with school holidays, but we hope the winner might be someone from our local community."

The weekend's win brings Western Australia's country Division One winners tally to 14 this year. These winners have shared in more than $25 million.

Lotto winners are not the only ones who benefit from Lotterywest games; 33 cents in every dollar spent is returned to Western Australian health, sports, the arts and a large number of charitable and community organisations.

This year the Busselton Senior Citizens Centre benefited from a $7,944 Lotterywest grant to help with purchasing equipment for the centre.

South Fremantle and Morley Division One prizes still yet to be claimed

Meanwhile, Lotterywest is still waiting to hear from two Lotto players who are yet to come forward to claim their Division One prizes.

One outstanding ticket worth $2 million was purchased in last weekend's Saturday Lotto draw from Morley North News. The other was purchased from Hampton Road Lottery Centre and News in South Fremantle in the Saturday Lotto draw on 18 September and holds a prize of over $1 million.

"We're eager to see these prizes go to their rightful owners before too long, so we encourage everyone who purchased a ticket in either of these draws to double check their numbers," Ms Compagnone said.
