Pure Gold gives Kenwick couple a $300,000 rush
A Kenwick couple received the ultimate surprise when they travelled to the South West region last month - they became $300,000 richer.
The man, who purchased their ticket from the Collie Newsagency, said the room he was in started spinning and his wife started screaming when they realised they had won a top prize on a $10 Pure Gold ticket.
"The money has come at such a good time. We can now pay off our debts, do some home renovations, buy a new car and share some with close family," he said.
"We can pay off what we have to and even have some money left over. Although I'll probably only get to keep 10% and my wife will keep 90%."
The couple were planning on celebrating over a few glasses of champagne and a special dinner.
"I might even cook my wife a lovely meal," he said.
Maida Vale man set to cruise life
A Maida Vale man in his 20s was shocked but extremely excited when he realised he had scratched a $75,000 prize on his $3 Pyramid Bingo ticket this month.
After purchasing the ticket from Burswood Lucky Lottery Centre, the man scratched the ticket on the same day when he returned to work.
"I work in a family business, so after I scratched the ticket I got my sister to check it as I thought I had scratched it wrong," the man said.
"She thought I had as well and sent me down to the retailer to verify the news. It was just unbelievable when he confirmed the prize."
The man said he would use the prize money to make a substantial payment on his mortgage and to buy a car.
"I have always wanted a four wheel drive, so I'm thinking of getting a nice land cruiser," he said.
Kalgoorlie man scratches the perfect gift
A perfect top prize of $10,000 on a $2 Two Times Lucky ticket was delivered to a Kalgoorlie man in his 20s last month.
"I have just finished my apprenticeship and need a car to drive to work so the prize will help me with that," the man said.
"My girlfriend and I are also expecting a baby very soon so it will help get us set-up for our first child."
The man, who purchased his lucky ticket from Kalgoorlie Newsagency, said he would celebrate with a few drinks.
