A million reasons for Maddington man to celebrate
Life for a Maddington man in his 20s has got a million times more exciting after claiming his Division One prize of over $1.7 million from the weekend's Saturday Lotto Superdraw.
The State's latest millionaire described his win as awesome news which would help with future plans.
"There are so many things I have wanted to do like buy a new house, pay off my car and buy my mum a house. Now I can do all these things a lot sooner than I had originally planned," he said.
"It was all just a dream yesterday but now things will happen a lot sooner than I expected, it's just awesome."
The man said he had remembered to check his ticket after visiting Metro Maddington Lottery Centre where he had purchased the winning ticket.
"I saw the outlet had a sign in-store stating it had sold a Division One winning ticket from the weekend and thought I better check my ticket," he said.
"When I realised my ticket was the winning one, I pointed to the sign and told the retailer I think that's me? I just couldn't believe it. I never thought I'd get this lucky."
The regular Lotto player, who won on line seven of his 12 game Slikpik, said the winning line contained significant numbers including the day and month of his birthday.
He said celebrations would start with a special family dinner but would carry on into the next fortnight.
With Lotto players investing in their favourite game, 33 cents in every dollar spent on Lotterywest products is returned to the local community.
Over the last financial year, Lotterywest raised $234.8 million for health services, sporting organisations, the arts and for community and charitable organisations in Western Australia.
