Western Australia welcomes four new Superdraw millionaires

Western Australia has kick started the new financial year with Lotto fortune after four of the state's Lotto players scooped $1 million each from the weekend's $20 million Saturday Lotto Superdraw.

The state's winning tickets were sold at Kinross Lottery Centre and News, Eaton Fair Lottery Centre and News, Spencer Park Newsagency in Albany and Here's Luck Lottery Centre in Cloverdale.

"Four winners is fantastic news for Western Australia and brings our state's Division One winners tally to 42 so far this year," said Lotterywest spokesperson Pina Compagnone.

"We have also seen four $20 million Saturday Lotto Superdraws held throughout 2010, which has resulted in more than $23 million in total prizes from these draws delivered to our state's Lotto players."

Soaring sales in the weekend's Superdraw translates into a huge win for community groups around the state with approximately $3.7 million raised from the draw to go back to Western Australia's hospitals, sports, the arts and not-for-profit organisations.

This includes the Albany Volunteer State Emergency Service Unit who this year benefited from a $19,028 Lotterywest grant to help purchase equipment for their Albany headquarters.
