OZ Lotto leaps to $50 million jackpot

Last night's OZ Lotto draw has broken this year's previous jackpot record to set a new Division One prize of $50 million.

The $50 million jackpot is a result of no player in the country having the numbers to take out last night's Division One prize of $40 million.

Lotterywest spokesperson Pina Compagnone said Western Australia's sales for the $50 million OZ Lotto jackpot were expected to soar as Lotto players flock to Lotterywest retailers for a chance to add their name to the Division One winners list.

"With 1.4 million tickets already sold in the draw since the game started to jackpot six weeks ago, we encourage all players to buy their tickets early to avoid the last minute retail rush that is expected next week," she said.

To date over this financial year, close to $65 million worth of OZ Lotto prizes across all Divisions has been won by Western Australian players.

Another $10 million on offer tomorrow night

In the lead up to OZ Lotto excitement, Western Australia's Lotto players will be given a second opportunity to scoop a big prize in tomorrow night's $10 million Powerball draw.

With a couple from Wembley collecting a $6 million Division One Powerball prize in March this year, Lotterywest is hoping to see more local Powerball fortune tomorrow night.

Tickets for both draws are available from all Lotterywest retailers around the state, with tickets for the $10 million Powerball jackpot available until 6pm tomorrow night and tickets for the $50 million OZ Lotto jackpot on sale until 6pm next Tuesday.

32 cents in every $1 spent on tickets for both draws will be returned to Western Australia's hospitals, sports, arts and not-for-profit organisations.
