Rockingham Lotto winners score $666,666
In the lead up to more World Cup fever this weekend, a Rockingham couple have scored their own win coming forward to claim their $666,666 Division One win from last Saturday's Lotto draw.
The regular Lotto players in their 60s purchased their winning Slikpik 12 ticket from Shepherd's News in Fremantle and said the prize money would help one of them visit their birthplace overseas.
"I have never been back to where I was born and this money will allow me to go and meet family I have never had the opportunity to meet," she said.
"It will also help us buy a new car, pay off our house and share it with close family."
The couple said they were in complete disbelief and shock when they first realised they were Division One winners however started to feel calm and collected once sitting in the Lotterywest winners room.
Lotterywest is giving other Western Australian Lotto players a double opportunity to boost their bank balances next week with a $40 million jackpot on offer in Tuesday night's OZ Lotto draw, and a $10 million jackpot available in Thursday's Powerball.
Tickets are on sale for both draws at Lotterywest retailers around the state.
Lotto winners are not the only ones who benefit from Lotterywest games; 32 cents in every dollar spent is returned to Western Australian health, sports, the arts and a large number of charitable and community organisations.
Last year, the Rockingham City Pipe Band benefited from a $12,484 Lotterywest grant for equipment to help with their public performances.
