Best friends relax with Division One win
Best friends from the Swan Valley have shared in St Patrick's Day celebrations by claiming their Division One prize of over $570,000 from the weekend's Lotto draw.
The two friends, who purchased their slikpik 50 ticket from Guildford Newsagency, said the prize money would help them become more financially comfortable.
"We have had a bit of bad luck over the last five years and have lost money to some poor money dealings," one friend said.
"We will use the money to pay off our debts and buy a house together. We might even go on a holiday at the end of the year."
The friends, who purchase Lotto tickets about four or five times a year together, said they had a strong feeling they would do very well with a ticket one day.
"We plan on celebrating by turning our phones off and spending the rest of the day sitting in the sun, relaxing and not worrying about anything," they said.
Meanwhile, Lotterywest is still waiting to hear from Western Australia's other Division One weekend winner.
The ticket was purchased from Reuben's News in Collie. It was the second winning Division One ticket the newsagency has sold in two weeks.
Where are Greenwood and Willagee's Division One winners?
Two other state Lotto players are also yet to come forward to claim their Division One prizes.
One outstanding ticket worth $444,444 was purchased in the Saturday Lotto draw on 6 February 2010 from Greenwood Lottery Centre & Newsagency. The other was purchased from Willagee Park Newsagency in the Saturday Lotto draw on 21 March last year and holds an $820,000 prize.
"We're eager to see these prizes go to their rightful owners before too long, so we encourage everyone who purchased a ticket in either of these draws to double check their numbers," said Lotterywest spokesperson Pina Compagnone.
Lotto winners are not the only ones to benefit from Lotterywest games; 32 cents in every dollar spent on Lotterywest products is returned to support the Western Australian community, including health, sports, arts and a large number of charitable and community groups.
