$70 million Powerball jackpot tonight!
Excitement is set to captivate Western Australia today with a massive $70 million Powerball jackpot up for grabs - the largest Lotto offering across the nation this year and the second largest in the game's 20 year history.
Lotterywest said it was set to be an extremely busy day with more than 1,000 tickets expected to be purchased for the jackpot every minute during today's busiest hour of sales.
The $70 million jackpot is the result of no-one across the nation being able to match the Powerball, plus the winning numbers for the game, over the last six weeks.
Lotterywest spokesperson Pina Compagnone said if players were looking for some lucky numbers, 2 had been the most popular drawn Powerball this year, while 5 and 25 were the most popular winning numbers.
So far this year, WA has delivered 89 Division 1 Lotto winners who have shared in almost $205 million worth of prizes. This has included four Powerball winners, the highest a $50 million win in July which rewrote WA's history books as the largest ever Lotto win.
Tickets for the Powerball jackpot are available until 6pm tonight in-store from Lotterywest retailers, through Play Online at www.lotterywest.wa.gov.au/play-online or by downloading the Lotterywest App.
Support from local players over the last five weeks of the Powerball jackpot roll has also helped Lotterywest to raise an estimated $13 million for the WA community.
Players are encouraged to play responsibly and spend only what they can afford. The cost of a ticket can be shared by joining with family, friends or work colleagues to form a syndicate.
