A regular Lotto player and lifelong renter couldn't believe her eyes when she realised she'd just won an OZ Lotto prize of $15 million. Now she finally gets to buy her first ever home with her husband - which we think is a great way to celebrate the win!
After each working 80 hour weeks just to pay the bills, this means they can now slow things down and enjoy life even more.
“I’m all about my family,” the woman said. “I’d hope to buy my parents and kids their own houses and set them up for the rest of their lives.”
Superstitious by nature, it looks like fortune has favoured her routine of never taking her tickets out of her handbag after purchasing until she was ready to check them.
And the wonderful team at Archer Street Newsagency have been given a special shout out from the winner. She said the owners folded her ticket over and asked her to wait a moment... Once the store was empty they took her into the backroom and said they believed she was the Division 1 winner! “Would you like to get an Uber to Lotterywest?” owner Tony Nguyen said.
She immediately burst into tears - and we think we would have too!
