Fremantle Youth Plaza

Ranked as the number one skate spot Australia-wide before it had even officially opened in 2014, the Esplanade Youth Plaza in Fremantle is an innovative and dynamic inner-city hub for young people and families.

Supported with a $600,000 Lotterywest grant towards construction costs, the Plaza caters for skateboarding, BMX and scooter riding and features Western Australia's first outdoor 'parkour' park, as well as a stage, seating and viewing areas.

"The project is a great example of what good planning, extensive community consultation and a lot of passion can achieve for the community and is now one of the most popular outdoor spaces in Fremantle," said Fremantle Mayor Dr Brad Pettitt.
