City of Armadale set to transform with $4 million grant from Premier

Who doesn’t love a good makeover?!

Thanks to a Lotterywest grant of over $4 million, the City of Armadale’s Bob Blackburn Community Hub is set to be completely revitalised to enhance support offered to families and young people in Armadale.

Cue the transformation…

As part of the revitalisation project, The Champion Centre will become a well-planned, one-stop-shop for various programs including parenting support; financial counselling; and youth support..

The new facilities will also accommodate not-for-profit organisations and local groups working in partnership to support local families and children including Communicare, Save the Children and the Armadale Family Support Network.

And outside, beautiful Indigenous art; new nature play areas; a new outdoor classroom; a yarning circle; and edible gardens will create a unique environment where children can play and flourish.

Premier Mark McGowan, who presented the grant to the Mayor of the City of Armadale, said the Champion Centre and Seville Grove Library were highly valued community facilities which support families and young people in the local community.

"With a local population that is currently growing at more than double the State average, I have no doubt the revitalisation of this space will serve the Armadale community into the future,” the Premier said.

It’s only thanks to Lotterywest retailers and players that we’re able to distribute grants like these to help build a better Western Australia together.

Looking good, WA!
