We love our winners. Hearing their stories, celebrating their windfalls (big and small), and just seeing the excitement and relief that seems to take them over. It's all pretty special and one of the amazing perks of being at Lotterywest.
And what's particularly wonderful is when a win is shared among a couple or more people. Like our $31 NYE Megadraw - now that was a very happy draw with lots of single players and syndicates collecting prizes.
On Monday last week we saw a pair of winners come in to collect a cool $1 million that they'd won. And while our syndicates or shared purchase tickets can be friends, siblings, workmates or couples, we really loved learning this was a father and son!
The father told us he got his days mixed up and was supposed to buy a Saturday Lotto ticket instead. Their Monday Lotto ticket was made up of a combination of family member birth dates - making the win even sweeter.
Looks like fate intervened with this mistake: and it definitely turned out in their favour!
