$250k grant to support St John Ambulance volunteers

Here at Lotterywest we believe volunteers are a vital part of our community.

They’re those passionate people who generously dedicate their time and energy to meaningful causes and organisations to help to make our State great. Without volunteers, invaluable programs and services that improve the lives of others simply couldn’t operate.

That’s why we’re as proud as punch to have supported St John Ambulance with a grant worth over a quarter of a million dollars to support the construction of two ambulance sub centres in Merredin and Bruce Rock.

This funding will be dedicated to creating vital volunteer amenity spaces which will provide space for the facilitation of group support and fellowship to support the wellbeing of St John Ambulance volunteers.

Across country Western Australia, 162 St John Ambulance locations are serviced by more than 3,100 dedicated volunteer ambulance officers and 90 paramedics. Every year, volunteers travel more than two million kilometres across country WA, transporting more than 62,000 people.

If volunteers weren’t a part of the St John Ambulance service it is likely that only a handful of rural and regional locations could offer a sustainable service, which is why Lotterywest is honoured to be involved in this important project. And as always, a huge shout out to Lotterywest retailers and players because grants like this wouldn’t be possible without you!
