WA online player picks up Division 1 prize

Despite this morning’s wet weather, the outlook is looking bright for one lucky Western Australian who scooped a $2 million prize in the weekend’s Saturday Lotto draw.

The winning ticket was one of two across the nation with WA’s winning ticket sold through a Lotterywest membership online.

Lotterywest spokeswoman Chloe Lawler said this year’s WA Division 1 winners have now shared in almost $111 million worth of prizes.

“They say when it rains it pours and this certainly seems to be the case in WA at the moment,” Ms Lawler said.

“As well as our lucky Division 1 online winner, 10 other stores across the State sold winning Division 2 tickets worth almost $140,000,” she said.

Subiaco Square Lottery Centre owner Dean Scott said he was thrilled to have produced his third Division 2 Saturday Lotto ticket for the year.

“This is our third Division 2 win following two earlier in the year,” Mr Scott said.

“Don’t let the rain deter you from popping in to check your tickets – you could be $15,000 richer and not even know it,” he added.

Ms Lawler said that playing online was a convenient way to play Lotterywest games.

“Online players can purchase their favourite Lotto games in just a few clicks or via our app,” Ms Lawler said.

“Last year was a great year for our online players too – they scooped almost $30 million in Lotto prize money,” she said.

“And best of all, around a third of every dollar spent goes back to the WA community through our grants program,” she added.
