Wet weekend weather delivers two WA Lotto winners

Western Australia’s weekend weather may have been cold and dreary but it would have felt much brighter for two lucky locals who each won a Division 1 prize in Saturday night’s Lotto draw.

WA’s winning tickets, each worth $701,962, were spread across the State and purchased from The Mall Newsagency in Perth and Nannup News and Post Office.

This is the first Division 1 winning ticket Nannup News and Post Office has sold, making them excited at achieving their main goal.

“We’ve been here for seven years and our ambition has always been to sell a big winner. It feels really good to know we’ve finally done it for our little town!” said owner of the store, Tony Mitchell.

“We’ve already put signs up outside to spread the good news and we’re hoping to keep the luck flowing and go for a hat trick in this weekend’s Superdraw.”

For The Mall Newsagency in Perth, it’s been just over two years since they last sold a Division 1 winning ticket. The $1.1 million prize was shared amongst six work colleagues from Perth.

Lotterywest has now celebrated 57 Division 1 Lotto winners in WA this year. These lucky players have shared in over $103 million in prizes.

WA’s weekend Lotto winners are yet to claim their Division 1 prizes.

“I couldn’t wait to tell my wife we’d just won tickets to the AFL Grand Final and it only cost $5! The atmosphere at a Grand Final is phenomenal, I’m excited for my wife to experience it for the first time, she’s going to love it,” he said.

Lotterywest expects to raise close to $4 million for the WA community thanks to support from players in this weekend’s Superdraw.
