Weekend Lotto wins delivered to regional and metro WA

Western Australia has had another successful weekend in Lotto with Division 1 winning tickets, each worth $518,125, sold in regional and metro areas.

WA’s Division 1 winning tickets were sold at Paraburdoo Lotteries and News in the Pilbara and Quinns Lottery Centre and Newsagency in Quinns Rock.

It’s the first Division 1 winning ticket Paraburdoo Lotteries and News has sold since the Sgambelluri family took ownership of the store more than 12 years ago.

“The town has been a bit quiet recently so we’re really hoping the winner is a local that could use the money. We’re telling everyone who comes in about the great news to get the message out there,” said the store manager, Desiree Plested.

“We’re so happy that luck has returned to our store and think it might have to do with the gold cat which sits on our counter.”

Quinns Lottery Centre and Newsagency last struck Lotto luck in 2014 after selling a Saturday Lotto Superdraw ticket worth $1.1 million.

“It’s always exciting to sell someone a winning ticket. We have a lucky shop and lots of people come to us for winning tickets. Not only do we sell Division 1 winners but we also sell lots of smaller prizes too,” said owner of the Quinns Rock store, Steve Ma.

WA’s Lotto winners tally is now at 73 for the year. These lucky players have shared in almost $116 million in prizes.

It’s not only WA’s Lotto winners who benefit following a draw, the local community benefits too with over $281 million going back to support the local community last financial year.

Unit Committee T.S Pilbara Incorporated received the benefits of those who play Lotterywest games with a $5,152 Lotterywest grant earlier this month. These funds will be used towards travel costs enabling young people based in the Pilbara to participate in a youth development and educational camp in Fremantle.
