WA’s luckiest Lotto locations and numbers revealed

As we countdown to tomorrow night’s $31 million New Year’s Eve Megadraw, Lotterwest has shared some of this year’s luckiest Lotto numbers and locations across Western Australia.

Lotterywest spokesperson Pina Compagnone said it had been another incredible year of WA winners, with some spots a bit luckier than others.

“Cloverdale has delivered the most Division 1 winning Lotto tickets with six worth a combined $7 million. This was closely followed by Lotterywest Play Online producing five and finally Woodvale and Mandurah which each had three,” Ms Compagnone said.

Some of the State’s most memorable Lotto moments included a $40 million OZ Lotto win in March - the largest for 2016 and the second largest in WA Lotto history.

Although the tally of Division 1 and 1st Prize Lotto winners for WA has reached 87 for the year sharing in almost $140 million, it was expected to grow even higher after tomorrow night.

“The Megadraw creates lots of excitement amongst our local players and always proves popular. We expect about 1 million tickets to be sold in WA for the event. During our busiest hour tomorrow, around 600 tickets will be purchased every minute for the Megadraw,” Ms Compagone said.

To take out a share in the $31 million Division 1 prize pool – players will need the six winning numbers from 45.

“It’s as simple as being in it to win it but if players are looking for some of this year’s most frequently drawn winning Saturday Lotto numbers they include 3 and 22 drawn 14 times, followed by 5, 10, 11, 12, 18, 26 and 32 each drawn 12 times,” Ms Compagnone said.

WA players have until 7pm New Year’s Eve to purchase their Megadraw tickets in-store, through Lotterywest Play Online or the Lotterywest App.

It’s not just local winners who are set to celebrate following the Megadraw – when you play with Lotterywest all of WA wins with close to $5.5 million expected to be raised from the Megadraw to support the local community.

Powerball powers to $55 million jackpot

After no-one across Australia could once again match the winning numbers plus the Powerball in last night’s $35 million Powerball jackpot, the game has powered to a $55 million jackpot offer.

Powerball has been jackpotting for the last six weeks and although WA hasn’t managed to take out Division 1, more than 80,000 WA players took home prizes last night in the other Divisions, including two lucky locals who each pocketed $92,300 in Division 2.

WA’s Division 2 winning tickets were sold at Money Tree Lotteries and News in Australind and The Lucky Charm Pinjarra.

Tickets for next Thursday’s $55 million Powerball jackpot are available until 6pm on Thursday.
