WA celebrated another Division 1 Lotto winner over the weekend with Katanning Lottery Centre in the Great Southern selling a Saturday Lotto prize worth $822,853.
This Division 1 prize was one of five across the nation and is currently unclaimed.
Katanning Lottery Centre last sold a Division 1 winning Lotto ticket in February 2013 in Soccer Pools.
“We’re known for the large amount of Scratch’n’Win top prizes we sell; one year we even sold three within six months, so it’s great to sell more Division 1 Lotto winners too.” said the owner of Katanning Lottery Centre, Jill Kowald.
“We’ve had the store since 1999 and it’s still exciting every time we sell a big winner. The town is excited too with customers spreading the great news.”
Almost 75,000 other West Aussies took home a Saturday Lotto prize across the game’s other divisions, including 11 players who are each set to collect a $10,161 Division 2 prize.
Meanwhile, Lotterywest is still waiting to hear from the winner of last Tuesday night’s $2.1 million Division 1 winning OZ Lotto ticket. It was sold from Garden City Lottery Centre in Booragoon.
So far this year, WA has produced 75 Division 1 Lotto winners who have shared in almost $119 million in prize money.
When you play with Lotterywest, all of WA wins with over $281 million going back to support the local community last financial year.
The Shire of Katanning received the benefits of those who play Lotterywest games with a $2 million Lotterywest grant earlier this year. These funds were used to support the Katanning Heritage Centre project, incorporating the All Ages Playground and Piesse Lake enhancements to provide a range of social and recreational opportunities to the community of Katanning and its visitors.
