WA takes home $20 million Powerball prize

A winning ticket sold in Western Australia has taken home a share in tonight’s $40 million Powerball jackpot.

There were two national Division 1 winning tickets, each worth $20 million, one from Western Australia and the other from New South Wales.

The $20 million win is the largest Lotto prize to be won in Western Australia since March 2016 – with tickets purchased in the jackpot roll over the past six weeks also contributing to $6.5 million benefiting the Western Australian community.

“It’s looking like another lucky year here in the West and we’re absolutely thrilled to have made someone in our State a multimillionaire,” said Lotterywest CEO Susan Hunt PSM.

“This now marks our 13th Division 1 win so far this year and these WA winners have shared in almost $39 million worth of prize money,” Ms Hunt added.

More than 91,000 other WA players picked up a prize in tonight’s Powerball jackpot, including one lucky local who pocketed a Division 2 prize worth just over $29,000.

Lotterywest encourages everyone who purchased a ticket in tonight’s Powerball draw to check their tickets for the winning numbers 10, 17, 35, 40, 22 and 30 and the Powerball 7.

Fingers crossed Lotto luck returns in just a few days when players will have another chance to win big in this weekend’s $20 million Saturday Lotto Superdraw.

Players have until 6pm on Saturday to purchase their Superdraw tickets from Lotterywest retailers’ in-store, online or through the Lotterywest App.

Lotterywest is still waiting to hear from WA’s $20 million Powerball winner.
